When: Wednesday, July 2nd

Newberg- Ch 32 Officially Off Air
When: Monday, July 1st
Duration: New Channel Switch Pending
Impact: Last week KNMT-TV in Portland rechanneled to CH 32 (FCC-mandated repack). Because their transmitter overpowers our translator in Newberg, OPB viewers have lost signal there. Since KNMT is a full service station and OPB’s CH 32 is a low power transmitter, FCC rules require us to accept the interference and change our operations in order not to interfere with them.
We are working on acquiring a new frequency and the equipment to support a channel change, but that will likely take around a month. In the interim, some viewers in Newberg may be able to pick up CH 10 out of Portland, but that is largely dependent on exact geographical location.
